ISLAMABAD: The e-stamping system is successfully being implemented in the federal capital Islamabad to completely eliminate forgery of stamp papers.

According to the district administration, the Federal Treasury has stopped issuing more traditional stamp papers, however, the already issued stamp papers can be used until their expiry date.

According to the Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, 585 challans have been generated so far under the e-stamping project, which has not only increased transparency but also allows for the compilation of complete digital data of all data related to stamp papers.

The DC Islamabad said that citizens can now easily verify their e-stamps through the Citizen Portal, which will further reduce the chances of forgery.

According to the administration, the e-stamping system will promote convenience, transparency and trust in government affairs, while providing fast and secure service to citizens.
