BISP Kafalat quarterly installment has been increased by the federal government to provide relief to low-income families.
The new amount has been raised from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500 for this quarter. The decision will benefit millions of registered women across Pakistan.
The announcement was made in Lahore. Officials said the increase aims to reduce financial pressure on deserving families.
Last year, the government had already increased the quarterly payment from Rs10,500 to Rs13,500. Now, with the latest revision, the total increase shows continued support for poor households.
The BISP Kafalat quarterly installment is part of the wider Benazir Income Support Program. It mainly supports financially vulnerable women.
Authorities explained that rising inflation has increased household expenses. Therefore, the higher BISP Kafalat quarterly installment will help women manage daily needs more easily.
The Benazir Kafalat Programme started in 2008. Over the years, it has become Pakistan’s largest cash transfer program.
The short-term goal of the scheme was to protect poor families from economic slowdown, food shortages, and inflation. In the long term, it aims to reduce extreme poverty and promote women’s empowerment in line with Sustainable Development Goals.
Officials confirmed that the revised BISP Kafalat quarterly installment will be provided to eligible beneficiaries under the current payment cycle.
