The Iran Air Defence System has reportedly shot down multiple US aerial targets, according to a statement released by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Saturday. The incident took place within Iranian airspace, where officials claimed defensive operations were carried out successfully.
In its statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that its advanced defence system destroyed two aircraft, five drones, and two cruise missiles. The announcement came shortly after reports of a US aircraft being brought down.
Iranian officials also released video footage, which they claim shows the moment a US aircraft was targeted and destroyed. However, independent verification of the footage has not yet been confirmed.
According to Iranian sources, one crew member may not have been able to eject safely from the aircraft. Authorities said their air defence units have made Iranian airspace increasingly dangerous for what they described as “enemy forces.”
Separately, Iranian media reported that a Black Hawk helicopter was also shot down. A video of the alleged incident has been circulated by local news agencies.
Reports further claim that three US aircraft were downed in a single day. There are also conflicting reports suggesting that a pilot may have been captured, though no official confirmation has been provided.
The situation remains tense, with no immediate response from US authorities regarding these claims.
