Iran thanks Pakistan for strong solidarity amid US-Israel tensions

Iran thanks Pakistan for showing strong solidarity during rising tensions involving the United States and Israel.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed appreciation to the government and people of Pakistan for supporting Tehran at a difficult time.

In a message posted on the social media platform X, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its clear support for the people and government of Iran.

He said the Iranian nation values Pakistan’s solidarity while facing aggression from the United States and Israel.

Araghchi also stated that Iran will continue defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He added that the country remains determined to stand firm against external threats.

The current conflict began on February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched coordinated strikes on Iranian military facilities. The attacks were carried out after concerns about regional security.

Iran responded with drone and missile strikes targeting US assets and allied interests in the Gulf region. This quickly increased tensions across the Middle East.

One of the major concerns has been disruption around the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for global oil supplies.

Due to the conflict, international markets have also been affected. Oil prices surged, with Brent crude crossing $104 per barrel. Air travel across major Middle Eastern hubs including Dubai, Doha, and Abu Dhabi has also faced disruptions.

Global governments and international organisations have warned that continued fighting could affect energy security, aviation routes, and regional stability.

Despite the rising tensions, Pakistan has maintained a cautious diplomatic approach. Islamabad has called for restraint and dialogue while avoiding direct military involvement.

Officials in Pakistan have highlighted the long-standing historical, cultural, and economic ties between the two neighbouring countries.

Through diplomatic channels, Pakistan has continued to express support for Iran while urging regional powers to reduce tensions and protect trade routes in the Gulf.
