The Premium Number Plate Auction held by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has generated more than Rs. 47 crore, highlighting strong public interest in exclusive vehicle registration numbers. The bidding event took place in Peshawar and attracted buyers willing to pay high prices for unique plates.

According to official figures, a total of 30 special “choice” number plates were auctioned. The most expensive plate was “Dawar 1,” which alone brought in Rs. 17.50 crore. This made it the highest-valued number in the event.

The second-highest bid came for “Orakzai 1,” which was sold for Rs. 4.10 crore. Close behind, “Waziristan 1” fetched Rs. 4.06 crore. Other top-selling plates included “Bajaur 1” at Rs. 3.35 crore and “Mohmand 1,” which reached Rs. 3.21 crore.

Several more plates crossed the Rs. 1 crore mark. “Mehsud 1” was sold for Rs. 2.20 crore, while “Khyber 1” achieved Rs. 2.01 crore. Plates such as “Gujar 1” and “Pashtun 1” also received strong offers, selling for Rs. 1.63 crore and Rs. 1.32 crore respectively.

Meanwhile, many other plates were auctioned for millions of rupees. “Buner 1” went for Rs. 9.5 million, while “Jadoon 1,” “Mardan 1,” and “Dir 1” sold between Rs. 6.7 million and Rs. 7.1 million. Plates including “Khattak 1,” “Kohat 1,” and “Swat 1” also attracted significant bids.

Officials said the large turnout and high bidding showed growing interest among citizens in personalized and premium vehicle numbers. The department noted that the initiative helps increase government revenue while offering buyers a chance to own unique registration plates.

Authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa confirmed that similar events may be organized again in the future. They believe the Premium Number Plate Auction model can continue to generate funds and maintain public participation.

The successful auction reflects how special vehicle numbers have become a symbol of identity and status, with buyers ready to invest heavily for exclusive combinations.
