Middle East conflict widens as Houthis hit Israel, US prepares ground war options

Middle East conflict widens

Middle East conflict widens as fresh attacks and military moves raise fears of a larger regional war.

The crisis deepened when Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthis launched missile strikes on Israel. This was their first direct attack since the current war began.

The United States has increased its military presence in the region. Thousands of Marines have already arrived, while more troops are expected soon. Reports suggest the Pentagon is also reviewing plans for possible ground operations in Iran.

However, it is still unclear if Donald Trump will approve sending ground forces. US officials say different options are being prepared to keep flexibility in strategy.

The war, which started on February 28 after US and Israeli strikes on Iran, has now spread across several countries. It has already caused heavy casualties and disrupted global energy supplies.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) issued a strong warning. It said universities linked to the US and Israel in the region could be targeted if attacks on Iranian institutions continue.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces continued strikes inside Iran. Targets included weapons facilities and infrastructure in Tehran and other cities. Iranian media reported casualties in multiple attacks.

The conflict has also expanded beyond Iran. Israeli strikes in Lebanon reportedly killed journalists and a soldier, raising further tensions with Hezbollah.

At the same time, Iran has launched attacks on several locations in the Gulf region. Missile and drone incidents have been reported in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and nearby areas.

The Houthi attacks on Israel also raise concerns about global shipping. The Strait of Hormuz, a key route for oil transport, remains under threat, increasing risks for the global economy.

Diplomatic efforts are ongoing. Pakistan is hosting regional talks with key countries to reduce tensions and avoid further escalation.

Despite this, both sides continue military actions. Analysts warn the situation could worsen if direct ground conflict begins.
