One Punjab, One Standard policy approved to unify infrastructure and civic design across Punjab

One Punjab, One Standard policy

LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the One Punjab, One Standard policy to introduce uniform infrastructure and civic design across Punjab. The decision aims to improve public spaces and ensure the same standards in all cities.

The approval was given during a special meeting in Lahore. Officials discussed forming an independent authority to manage standardisation and urban design matters across the province.

The chief minister agreed in principle to create a dedicated unit. She also directed officials to prepare a detailed design manual to guide development projects.

During the meeting, officials reviewed plans to introduce the same designs for roadside kiosks and small shop cabins. Uniform standards will also apply to roads, green belts, signboards, and footpaths.

Authorities informed the meeting that public buildings such as schools, hospitals, and bus stops will follow the same structure and design under the One Punjab, One Standard policy.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the government wants every city to look organised and attractive. She added that uniform infrastructure improves the identity and beauty of urban areas.
