Pakistan Egypt Joint Military Exercise Thunder-II Begins at Cherat for Counterterrorism Training

Pakistan Egypt Joint Military Exercise Thunder-II has started at the Special Operations School in Cherat, bringing together elite forces from both countries for counterterrorism training. The exercise began on April 6 and will continue for two weeks. It aims to improve professional skills and deepen military cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the exercise is being held at the Special Operations School in Cherat. It involves troops from Pakistan Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) and Egypt’s special forces units.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Commandant of the Special Operations School, who was the chief guest. Officials highlighted the importance of joint training in modern warfare.

ISPR stated that the main goal of Pakistan Egypt Joint Military Exercise Thunder-II is to enhance operational capabilities through shared learning and coordinated training.

Both sides will exchange professional experiences and tactical expertise during the drills. This will help improve their ability to respond to counterterrorism challenges.

The exercise also reflects the strong and long-standing defence ties between Pakistan and Egypt. Military officials believe such engagements further strengthen cooperation and mutual trust.
