Pakistan mediation Iran US talks has become an important development as tensions continue in the Gulf region. Islamabad is trying to reduce conflict through diplomacy instead of taking sides.

On Thursday, Ishaq Dar confirmed that Pakistan is helping indirect communication between the United States and Iran. He said both sides are exchanging messages through Pakistan.

The government is following a balanced policy. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned both the strikes on Iran and the retaliation by Tehran. Officials say Pakistan supports dialogue to bring peace.

Pakistan has strong ties with many countries. It shares a long border with Iran and also has working relations with the United States, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye. This makes Pakistan a suitable mediator.

Historically, Iran was the first country to recognize Pakistan after independence. Both countries also worked together during the Soviet war in Afghanistan. Pakistan also represents some Iranian interests in Washington.

At the same time, Pakistan maintains relations with the United States. Army Chief Asim Munir has recently been in contact with former US President Donald Trump, showing improving ties.

Experts say Pakistan wants peace for economic reasons as well. The country depends on oil and gas supplies passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Any conflict can increase fuel prices and hurt the economy.

Analysts believe that by promoting talks, Pakistan is trying to avoid becoming part of the conflict. At the same time, successful mediation can improve its global image and strengthen regional stability.
