The issue of paper leaks on social media criminalised has become a major warning for students across Punjab ahead of the upcoming annual examinations.
Education boards in the province have announced strict action against anyone who shares exam papers on social media platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook, or X.
Officials said the paper leaks on social media criminalised rule will apply during the Matriculation and Intermediate annual examinations scheduled to begin later this month.
According to authorities, students who upload or share question papers online may face legal action. This includes the registration of a police case.
A spokesperson for the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi said such actions are punishable under the Punjab University and Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education Malpractices Act, 1950.
The spokesperson explained that the law allows punishment of up to three years in prison and a fine of up to Rs50,000.
Education officials said the step was taken after repeated concerns about paper leaks on social media criminalised incidents during previous examinations.
To stop such activities, all students have also been banned from bringing mobile phones inside examination centres.
Authorities warned that taking pictures or recording videos of question papers and sharing them online is strictly prohibited.
Education boards said the goal of the new measures is to protect the transparency and fairness of the examination system.
Students have been advised to follow all exam rules and avoid any action that could violate the paper leaks on social media criminalised law.
