Punjab Ramadan Nigehban Package has been approved by the Punjab government to provide direct cash relief to millions of low-income families during the holy month of Ramadan. Under the Punjab Ramadan Nigehban Package, each eligible household will receive Rs. 10,000 to help manage rising living costs and essential needs.
The Punjab government has approved a Rs. 47 billion relief initiative under the Punjab Ramadan Nigehban Package, aimed at supporting 4.2 million deserving families across the province. The decision was finalized during a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, focusing on Ramadan preparations and public welfare measures.
Officials said the package reflects the government’s commitment to providing timely financial support to vulnerable segments of society during Ramadan, when household expenses typically increase.
Under the approved plan, 4.2 million families will receive Rs. 10,000 each during Ramadan. The beneficiaries include ration card holders and families already registered under social protection programs.
More than two million Nigehban Cards will be issued to facilitate transparent and efficient cash distribution. These cards will allow beneficiaries to access funds and purchase essential food items.
Beneficiaries will be able to withdraw cash through Bank of Punjab branchless banking agents and ATMs connected to the One-Link network. Officials confirmed that 136 card activation centers will be established across Punjab to ensure smooth access and reduce overcrowding.
To maintain transparency, the government will launch a dedicated Ramadan Nigehban Dashboard. This digital system will monitor fund distribution, verify beneficiaries, and address complaints in real time.
Authorities stated that the dashboard will help prevent duplication and ensure that assistance reaches only eligible families under the Punjab Governament.
Officials also confirmed that ration card holders will receive Rs. 10,000 during Ramadan, compared to the existing monthly assistance of Rs. 3,000. This temporary increase is intended to provide meaningful relief during the fasting month.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the Punjab Ramadan Nigehban Package is part of a broader strategy to protect low-income households from inflationary pressures. She directed departments to ensure timely delivery and strict monitoring of the program.
The government reiterated that no delays or irregularities would be tolerated in the implementation process.
