The Saad Edhi Gaza Flotilla mission has drawn global attention after a video message from Saad Edhi surfaced online shortly before the aid convoy was reportedly intercepted in international waters.
Saad Edhi, grandson of Abdul Sattar Edhi and son of Faisal Edhi, was among the volunteers taking part in the international humanitarian campaign known as the Global Sumud Flotilla. The mission was organized to deliver food, medical supplies, and essential aid to civilians in Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
According to reports circulating on social media, the flotilla departed from Marmaris and included nearly 500 activists from different countries. The convoy was said to be moving toward Gaza when Israeli naval forces allegedly surrounded the civilian vessels in international waters, stopping their onward journey.
Before the reported interception, Saad Edhi recorded a video message that quickly went viral across social media platforms. In the clip, he stated that if the public were watching the video, it meant the flotilla had been stopped and urged the Government of Pakistan to ensure the safe return of all Pakistani participants.
The incident has triggered widespread reactions online, with many users expressing concern over the fate of the humanitarian workers and condemning the reported interception. Social media users shared messages of solidarity, calling the mission a peaceful effort to deliver relief to those in need.
The video has also renewed public interest in the humanitarian legacy of the Edhi family, whose welfare work continues to resonate far beyond Pakistan.
