Sindh Schools Collect Textbooks After Exams to Manage Inventory

The Sindh School Education Department has issued new instructions for government schools to manage textbooks efficiently. Under the directives, Sindh schools collect textbooks from students immediately after annual examinations. This measure is aimed at maintaining proper records and safeguarding educational materials.

Students at all levels, from primary to higher secondary, are required to return textbooks after completing their exams. Schools must note the return of each book on the student’s result card. Once collected, the books will be stored securely in school book banks for future use.

The guidelines also include reporting requirements. District Education Officers (DEOs) are tasked with submitting detailed stock reports of their respective school book banks. These reports will then be consolidated by regional directors and sent to the education department to ensure district-wide monitoring and accountability.

Education officials said that these steps will prevent loss of textbooks, ensure fair distribution, and help maintain accurate inventory across government schools. By implementing these measures, the department aims to improve the management of free textbooks, which are a key resource for students in Sindh.

Parents and students are advised to cooperate with school authorities during the textbook collection process. Schools have been instructed to handle the books carefully and maintain proper records to avoid any discrepancies.

This initiative reflects the Sindh government’s ongoing efforts to streamline school operations and safeguard learning resources for future academic years. Proper management of textbooks is expected to enhance access for students and support the overall education system in the province.
