Quetta is set to celebrate Basant colorful kite festival from February 13 to 15, bringing the city alive with vibrant colors and festive cheer. Following Lahore’s lively Basant celebrations, residents of Quetta are excited to join in the fun.

Preparations are already in full swing across the city. Markets are filled with colorful kites, strong kite strings, and traditional yellow attire. Local shops along Gulshan Road, Prince Road, Alamdar Road, Kasi Road, and Liaqat Bazaar are buzzing with shoppers exploring the latest kite designs.

The festival promises to light up Quetta’s skies with hundreds of kites while offering a mix of cultural programs, music performances, and traditional events. Organizers have arranged local artists’ performances, food stalls, and family-friendly activities to ensure a memorable experience for all attendees.

Residents say the event will provide a rare source of entertainment in the city. “In Quetta, where daily life can be stressful, a festival like this not only spreads happiness but also promotes social harmony,” said local citizen Misbah Advocate. He added that government involvement could make the festival even more appealing, but even now, it sends a positive message for tourism in the region.

Authorities encourage people to celebrate responsibly and follow safety measures to ensure the event remains safe and enjoyable. This festival marks a cultural milestone in Quetta, offering a brief escape from routine life and an opportunity for communities to come together.

Following Lahore, Quetta becomes the second major city reviving this traditional kite-flying celebration. Residents and visitors alike look forward to seeing the skies filled with colorful kites and the city bustling with cultural festivities.

The Basant colorful kite festival Quetta aims to bring joy, community spirit, and cultural pride to the city, promising three days of entertainment and excitement for all ages.
