US President Donald Trump said that the United States does not need help from British aircraft carriers in the ongoing conflict with Iran. Trump rejects British aircraft carriers and claimed that the US has already won the war.

He shared this message on his social media platform Truth Social. Trump said United Kingdom was considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East, but such help was no longer required.

The statement came after the British Ministry of Defence announced that the aircraft carrier HMS Prince of Wales had been placed on high alert.

In his message, Trump addressed British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. He said the United States does not need allies who join after a war has already been won. However, Trump also described the UK as a “once great ally” and said the US would remember this.

Observers say the remarks may increase tensions between the US and the UK. The comments came at a time when the United States and Israel have been carrying out joint military actions against Iran since February 28.

Britain has not joined the war directly. However, it has allowed the US to use some of its military bases for limited defensive purposes.

These include the RAF Fairford air base and the Diego Garcia Military Base in the Indian Ocean.

Speaking in parliament, Starmer said the UK is not taking part in US or Israeli attacks. He added that the government is focusing on protecting national interests and the safety of British citizens.

Meanwhile, opposition to the war is growing inside Britain. A recent survey shows many people believe the conflict is unnecessary. Thousands of protesters also gathered outside the United States Embassy London to demonstrate against the war.
