10 detained in fast foot outlet vandalism case in Rawalpindi: CPO

RAWALPINDI: City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani announced the arrest of 10 individuals involved in the recent vandalism at a fast-food outlet in the Cantt area.

During press briefing, he stated that the police, working round the clock, apprehended the suspects within 48 hours, including key perpetrators identified through CCTV footage.

The incident occurred in Saddar, where the suspects stormed the restaurant, harassed staff and families and caused significant damage before fleeing. The CPO emphasized that the group had no political affiliations and included one TikToker who admitted to participating for “adventure.”

CPO Hamadani reiterated that public safety, especially in commercial and family areas like Saddar and Murree Road, remains the top priority. He assured increased security measures across the city and warned that such disruptive behaviour would be dealt with strictly.

He also called on religious leaders and media to help promote peace and prevent such incidents in the future, adding that seminars are being planned to raise awareness among the people.

Those detained include Kamran, Tauseef, Naseem, Khizar, Zahid, Mansoor, Asif, Azmat, Hamza, and Nasir.
