KARACHI: In a tragic turn of events, a 10-year-old girl was kidnapped on board a train ride from Faisalabad to Karachi, after her family was incapacitated with drugs.

They were on their way to Karachi from Faisalabad, where they were drugged with lassi by other passengers along the way near Sukkur, according to kidnapped girl Inaya’s mother.

Inayas mother, Shagufta Bibi, said she was accompanied by three of her children on the Shalimar Express when strangers offered them lassi.

Soon after consuming it, she and her older daughter became unconscious. After regaining consciousness close to Landhi Station, she found Inaya missing and the suspects who had occupied the compartment.

The occurrence took place on May 28, and a proper FIR has been lodged at the Karachi Cantt Railway Station police.

But even four days after that, the child is still missing, and the family says there hasn’t been much progress by the police as of yet.
