20kg Flour Bag Price Hiked by Rs 300 in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Flour prices have increased once again in Peshawar as the price of a 20-kilogram bag of mixed flour reached Rs 3,300.

According to flour dealers, the price of a 20-kilogram bag of fine flour has increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,300.

Flour dealers say that due to the lack of supply of flour in the market, the prices are increasing. This new increase in inflation has caused serious concern among the citizens.

Earlier, the flour prices increased in different cities across the country. In Islamabad, the price of flour has increased by Rs 10 per kg.

In Balakot, fine flour is being sold for Rs 6,000 per maund, and the price of double super flour is Rs 5,800 per maund.

In different markets, double super flour is being sold for up to Rs 5,880 per maund. The people have demanded that the government control the prices of flour.

Flour prices remain unchanged in Peshawar. A 20 kg bag of mixed flour is being sold for Rs 2,900 in the market; the price of a 20 kg bag of fine flour remains at Rs 3,000.

Flour has become more expensive in Multan; the price per kg has been recorded to increase by Rs 20. One kg of flour is available for Rs 130 per kg in the general market.

In Talagang, too, flour has become out of reach of the common citizen. Flour is being sold for Rs 120 to 130 per kg, milled flour made from red wheat has reached Rs 140 to 150 per kg, and flour that was available for Rs 90 per kg a few days ago is now being sold for Rs 120.

In Talagang, the price of wheat has increased by Rs 1500 per maund in two months. Wheat is being sold for Rs 4000 to Rs 4300 per maund in the open market.

In Kasur, wheat and flour have become far out of reach of the poor man.

Fine flour that was sold for Rs 90 per kg a few days ago in the local market is now being sold for Rs 120 per kg. Earlier, milled flour was being sold for Rs 115 per kg, which is now being sold from Rs 140 to Rs 145 per kg.

The price of fine flour has also increased by Rs 15 per kg, an 80 kg sack of fine flour is being sold for Rs 10,800 to Rs 11,000. The price of wheat has increased by Rs 1,500 per maund in two months.

In Chaman, the price of a hundred kg sack of flour has increased by Rs 2,500 in the past week. According to the Market Association, flour has become expensive due to the cessation of flour supply from Punjab.

The price of 50 kg of flour sold in the city a week ago has suddenly increased from Rs 1,000,000 to Rs 1,200.
