4.5 magnitude earthquake hits Islamabad, tremors felt across region

ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors have been felt once again in the federal capital Islamabad.

The Seismological Center says that an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 was recorded in Islamabad with a depth of 136 kilometers.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake was felt at 8:59 am.

It should be noted that earthquake tremors were felt in Islamabad and Rawalpindi this morning as well, due to which people came out of their homes in fear.

According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake’s magnitude was recorded as 4.5, while tremors were also felt in Haripur, Khanpur and Swabi.

It should be remembered that an earthquake of magnitude 5.6 was recorded in different cities of the country yesterday during Iftar.

The Seismological Center had said that the earthquake had a depth of 73 kilometers underground, while its epicenter was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.

The tremors of the earthquake were felt in many areas including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Mardan, Lower Dir, Malakand, Chitral, Khyber, Bara, Jamrud, Landi Kotal, Tirah and Sargodha.
