ISLAMABAD: Tremors were felt across several northern areas of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Peshawar, causing panic among residents.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake measured 5.5 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 199 kilometres. The epicentre was located in the Hindu Kush region.
The tremors were also reported in Swat, Hangu, North Waziristan and Chitral.
Following the quake, citizens rushed out of their homes and buildings in fear. However, no loss of life or property damage has been reported so far.
