Pakistan unveil Test squad for Bangladesh with fresh inclusions

LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has announced a 16-member national squad for the two-Test series with Bangladesh.

Shan Masood has been retained as the captain of the Test team, while 4 new players have been added to the squad.

Five players in the squad are participating in the ongoing NCA Red Ball camp in Lahore. The national Test squad will join the camp in Karachi on April 27, while the players participating in the PSL will join the camp after the completion of their teams’ matches.

The national team’s camp will conclude on May 1, and the team will leave for Bangladesh on May 2.

Former Test captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has been appointed head coach for the Bangladesh tour, while former Test cricketers Asad Shafiq and Umar Gul will serve as batting and bowling coaches.

Shahn Masood (captain), Abdullah Fazal, Imad Butt, Azan Owais, Babar Azam, Hasan Ali, Imam-ul-Haq, and Khurram Shahzad are part of the squad.

Muhammad Abbas, Muhammad Rizwan, Muhammad Ghazi Ghauri, Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, Salman Ali Agha, Saud Shakeel and Shaheen Shah Afridi are also included in the squad.
