MUZAFFARABAD: The government and relevant law enforcement agencies have decided to take legal action against elements associated with, supporting and promoting the objectives and activities of the banned Joint Public Action Committee and on social media.
According to sources, instructions have been issued to the relevant agencies to make monitoring of support for the banned organization, publicity, publication of inflammatory content, hate campaign against state institutions and activities affecting public order and peace more effective on social media platforms.
Officials say that according to the law, supporting, funding, promoting or promoting the ideology of any banned organization is a punishable offense, therefore, cases will be registered against such elements on the basis of evidence and legal action will be taken.
According to official sources, the content, groups and accounts circulating on social media are being reviewed, while if people living abroad support or promote a banned organization, the possibility of action under relevant laws will be reviewed.
The authorities have appealed to the public to avoid unverified news, inflammatory content and propaganda related to banned organizations and to trust only information released from authentic sources. According to the government’s position, the implementation of the law will be ensured at all costs to protect public order, state stability and public security.
