AJK govt announces Eid-ul-Azha holidays 2026

MUZAFFARABAD: The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced public holidays on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha 2026.

According to an official notification, residents across Azad Jammu and Kashmir will observe three public holidays starting from May 26, 2026.

Under the schedule, holidays will be observed on May 26, May 27, and May 28.

During this period, all public and private educational institutions, including schools and colleges, along with government and private offices, will remain closed.

The announcement was issued to facilitate Eid celebrations across the region and ensure observance of the religious occasion.

Authorities are expected to resume normal operations following the completion of the holiday period.

Sindh govt revises Eid-ul-Azha holidays schedule

The Sindh government has once again changed the Eid al-Azha holiday schedule. According to the new notification issued, there will be only three holidays instead of four.

The Eid holidays will start from May 26 and will end on May 28, 2026. This means the public will only have three holidays i-e on May 26, 27, and 28.

Meanwhile, during those holidays, all government offices, autonomous bodies, and semi-autonomous institutions will remain closed.

Though the departments that handle essential services will keep on working, across the whole holiday span as usual. The notification also mentioned that all government offices will reopen on Friday, May 29.
