ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Azhar Mashwani’s two missing brothers have returned home safely on the night of September 5 and 6, Azhar Mashwani confirmed.
In a post on X, Mashwani said that his brothers, Mazhar Mashwani and Zahoor Mashwani, reached home at 2 am after 92 days when they were abducted on June 6.
He also prayed for the safe return of all forcibly disappeared people to their families in his message.
Furthermore, he wrote, “We are grateful for the hard work and prayers of all Pakistanis, especially our lawyers, reporters, social media activists and PTI workers.”
Azhar Mashwani expressed gratitude to Islamabad High Court (IHC) Judge Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Shehbaz Ali Rizvi of the Lahore High Court for fixing the case of his brother’s disappearance promptly.
During the last hearing, the Islamabad High Court had ordered the state institutions to find and produce Mashwani’s brother in court. The court’s written order said that the whereabouts of Azhar Mashwani’s brothers were still not known and it’s very dispiriting.
