QUETTA: The Balochistan governmnet have taken the initiative by introducing the Benazir Kissan Card, which is designed to render farmers in the province timely financial relief.

The program, which has been worked out with HBL Konnect, will allow the subsidies aimed at helping agriculture to be transferred directly and transparently to the users.

A meeting headed by Balochistan Secretary of Agriculture Noor Ahmed Pirkani notified that the farmers will have their accounts created with HBL for the money to reach them without any hindrance.

The dignitaries present at the meeting included Director General of Agriculture (Extension) Masood Baloch and high-ranking agriculture officials. The program is designed to provide support for purchasing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and machinery for the farms in order to increase productivity and minimize the financial burden on the farmers.

To facilitate the registration process, the government has launched an online platform specifically for this purpose called “Kissan Balochistan,” where farmers can self-register quickly and conveniently.

Moreover, offline registration can be done at the offices of district Deputy Directors of Agriculture (Extension), and there is also a mobile app associated with the Benazir Kissan Card through which registration can be done.

The officials have reiterated that only those farmers who are registered would be entitled to the card and the financial support. Up to now, more than 80,000 farmers have been able to register successfully in various districts, while areas with low registrations have led to prompt action against the officials in charge.

This guarantees that the program will be able to reach the intended beneficiaries on time and that no farmer will be unattended. The launch of the Benazir Kissan Card in Balochistan is an important milestone for local farmers as it not only provides them with the necessary inputs but also lessens the financial burden in the agrarian sector.
