Benazir Kafalat Program simplifies eligibility, payment checks for families
ISLAMABAD: Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has made it easier for eligible families to get their eligibility and payment information.
Eligible individuals of the program can check their eligibility and payment details through the official 8171 web portal or SMS using their national identity card number.
Citizens can click on this link https://8171.bisp.gov.pk to register themselves.
According to BISP, the quarterly installment under the Benazir Kafalat Program has been increased from Rs. 13,500 to Rs. 19,500.
To get information about their amount, eligible women and families can visit the 8171 portal and enter their 13-digit national identity card number, type the captcha code, and check eligibility, or click on the relevant button. After that, eligibility, payment, and other necessary details are displayed on the screen.
People without internet access can also get their information through the 8171 SMS service. For this, write the national identity card number without the dash in the message box of the mobile and send it to 8171, after which a response regarding eligibility or payment is received.
According to BISP officials, 8171 is the official number of the program, and messages from any other number should not be trusted.
Officials have warned citizens not to pay any fee to anyone for BISP registration, eligibility, or obtaining money. Eligible individuals can contact the nearest BISP Tehsil Office or NSER Survey for the accuracy of their registration or information.
If any eligible woman or family is deducted from the amount, a complaint should be filed immediately at the BISP Helpline 0800 26477 or the nearest BISP office.
BISP administration says that the program aims to provide financial assistance to low-income and eligible families in a transparent manner, while steps are being taken to make the payment system more convenient, secure, and accessible.
