BISP to launch digital wallet system for 14,500 installments

BISP announces good news for unmarried women above age 35

LAHORE: The government is currently considering a major update to the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) payment system for 2026.

The proposed policy will enable direct digital wallet transfers of the current installment amounting to Rs 14,500. The new system aims to eliminate cash payments and traditional camp systems through its implementation of modern operational methods.

The new system may involve partnerships with mobile financial platforms such as Easypaisa and JazzCash. The government intends to establish withdrawal capabilities through Bank Alfalah, HBL Microfinance, and the Bank of Punjab.

The beneficiaries will gain the ability to access their funds through any approved agent, ATM, or retail location that exists throughout the country, instead of needing to visit designated district camp locations.

The primary goal of this digital transition is to increase transparency and reduce the burden on women who currently wait in long lines.

The system will create beneficiary accounts through their CNIC and mobile number, which exists in their official records. The public awaits a complete announcement that includes government validation despite the importance of these reports.
