ISLAMABAD: In Budget 27-2026, a possibility of tax relief has been under consideration for salaried people earning one to three lakhs per month.

According to details, on the special instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, preparations have been started to provide major relief in income tax to the salaried class, especially the middle class, in the budget of the next financial year.

Sources said that initial proposals for a significant reduction in the income tax rate for millions of employees in the country earning one, two and three lakh rupees per month have been prepared, on which the Prime Minister has also been given a detailed briefing.

Sources say that the number of people earning two to three lakh rupees per month in the country is about 5.5 lakh, who will directly benefit from this relief.

The government has shared 3 different proposals with the IMF regarding providing 3, 5 and 10 percent relief, the final approval of which will be taken from the IMF.

This relief aims to provide relief to the white-clad class, who are suffering from inflation.
