KARACHI: The price of chicken is not being implemented in Shahr-e-Quaid, due to which the public is having to buy chicken at high prices.
According to details, the government has fixed the official price of chicken meat at Rs 555 per kg; however, it could not be implemented in the market, and the meat is being sold at up to Rs 560 per kg.
Similarly, live chicken is also being sold at Rs 490 per kg, contrary to the official price, which is raising questions about the price control system.
According to market reports, rates should be issued under the price mechanism so that all stakeholders can get reasonable prices.
In this regard, Malik Zarif has taken the position that profits and expenses should also be taken into account so that the business is not affected.
On the other hand, citizens say that despite the official price list, inflation is increasing further due to the lack of stability in prices in the market, and the government should take immediate steps.
