COAS Asim Munir vows decisive action against terrorists in Balochistan

QUETTA: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, visited Quetta on Wednesday, where he received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation and ongoing internal security operations in Balochistan.

During the briefing, military officials outlined recent terrorist attacks carried out by Indian-backed, internationally designated terrorists of Fitna al Hindustan, and detailed the swift and aggressive response by security forces, which successfully foiled attempts to undermine peace, stability, and development in the province.

Measures aimed at further strengthening the writ of the state and ensuring the protection of civilians and critical infrastructure were also discussed.

Addressing the briefing, the COAS and CDF stated that no terrorist or facilitator would be spared and that all elements involved in violence and terrorism would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law. He stressed that violence and terrorism cannot be justified under any pretext.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir praised the professionalism, courage, and sacrifices of officers and personnel from all law enforcement agencies for thwarting anti-Pakistan designs and maintaining law and order in the province.

Later, accompanied by Chief Minister Balochistan, the army chief visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta, where he met injured personnel of the Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps Balochistan, and Police. He lauded their high morale and commended their bravery and steadfast commitment in defending the country against foreign-sponsored terrorism.

Earlier, upon his arrival in Quetta, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was received by the Commander Quetta Corps.
