ISLAMABAD: Earthquake tremors were felt in various cities of the country including the federal capital Islamabad on Wednesday night, due to which fear and panic spread among the citizens and people came out of their homes, offices and other buildings while reciting the Kalima Tayyaba.
Earthquake tremors were felt in various areas including Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Charsadda, Bajaur, Shangla and Battagram. The tremors continued for a few seconds in some places, due to which citizens gathered in open places as a precaution.

According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.3, while its depth was 174 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake was the Hindu Kush mountain range of Afghanistan, from where the earthquakes coming from were also felt in the northern and central areas of Pakistan.
According to initial reports, no loss of life or property was reported as a result of the earthquake, however, the district administration and relevant agencies are monitoring the situation.
Authorities have appealed to citizens not to listen to rumors and follow the instructions of relevant agencies in any emergency.
It should be remembered that 3 days ago, severe tremors of the earthquake were felt in most parts of the country, including the federal capital. According to the Seismological Center, the magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 5.9 on the Richter scale, while the epicenter of the earthquake was Hindu Kush, Afghanistan, and the depth of the earthquake was recorded as 191 kilometers.
