RAWALPINDI: During an exchange of fire with terrorists at the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in North Waziristan District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces eliminated eight terrorists sponsored by India, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday.
According to reports by the military’s media arm, the movement of a group of terrorists, who were backed by India and also known as Fitna al-Khawarij, was detected by security forces on April 1.
According to reports by ISPR, security forces successfully engaged the group of terrorists, and as a result of “precise and skillful engagement” with the terrorists, eight of them were gunned down. The weapons and ammunition were also seized from the terrorists.
“The engagement once again substantiates our repeated stance regarding the abject failure of the Afghan Taliban Regime to ensure effective border management on their side of the border. Afghan Taliban Regime must fulfill their obligations and deny the use of Afghan soil by khwarij and involvement of their citizens in terrorism inside Pakistan,” said ISPR.
The military media center stated that the security forces of Pakistan remain steadfast and unwavering in their resolve to defend the country’s frontiers.
“Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored kharji found in the area,” ISPR stated, adding that the relentless Counter Terrorism campaign under vision “Azm-e-Istehkam” will continue at full pace to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
