COLOMBO: Sri Lankan player Nuwan Thushara has filed a petition against the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

According to the details, the petition has taken the position that an NOC should be issued to play in the IPL.

Nuwan Thushara has made the president, treasurer, and CEO of the Sri Lankan board a party in his petition.

Nuwan has signed a contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL. Sri Lanka Cricket has refused to grant Nuwan Thushara an NOC for failing to pass the fitness test.

The petitioner says that his contract with Sri Lanka Cricket expired on March 31. I have told the board that I am retiring from international cricket. Despite informing the board, not granting an NOC based on fitness is unfair.

The Colombo District Court has adjourned the hearing until April 9.
