Ex-ISI Chief Faiz Hameed & Absar Alam audio call leaked online: Details inside

ISLAMABAD: A leaked audio recording of a conversation between former Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed and former chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) Absar Alam has come to light. The conversation has been revealed.

In the leaked audio, Faiz Hameed can be heard pressuring Absar Alam to give favors, including resolving the license issues of two old channels.

In the leaked audio, Faiz Hameed asks Absar Alam why no attention has been paid to him, to which Alam replies that he is ready to cooperate.

The conversation takes a dangerous turn when Faiz Hameed mentions sending Brigadier Ghaffar to follow up on the matter.

Absar Alam seemed surprised at the request, saying that Hameed had never made such a request before.

The former ISI chief then insists that he has made several requests in the past, expressing his desire to address the matter directly to the scholar. He said that a Brigadier would contact Ghaffar Alam to provide more details.
