ISLAMABAD: According to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the F-8 Jinnah Road Interchange project should be completed by February 18.
During his inspection of the construction site, he also checked the finishing work on the flyover and appreciated the work of the workers, urging them to continue with that spirit of dedication.
The minister also instructed the authorities in the immediate vicinity to lift the debris from surrounding areas with vigor and finish work on connecting roads beneath the flyover.
The project was developed by MAAKSONS in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and NESPAK and aims at lessening the congestion at the important intersection of 9th Avenue and Jinnah Avenue.
The project includes a flyover and an underpass, the completion of which is expected to ease heavy traffic conditions. The underpass was opened to traffic on December 24, subsequently resolving nearly half of the traffic problems in this high-congestion junction.
It is part of a wider effort to productively enhance the infrastructure, and in so doing, it will have a massive impact on decongestion within Islamabad.
The cost of this project is Rs 4.1 billion, making it a massive investment in the hometown’s infrastructure, and it will be very soon handed over∧. The Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif had recently inaugurated the multi-billion Serena Interchange Project, also called Jinnah Square.
