ISLAMABAD: For the convenience of the people, the Government of Pakistan has decided to amend the passport rules for issuing and renewing new passports, here on Tuesday.
As per the details, in this regard, the Ministry of Interior has sent a summary to the Federal Cabinet to propose amendments in the Passport Laws.
According to the summary, after the approval of the amendments, passports will be issued to citizens from any city across the country.
Additionally, the summary states that the passport fee for all categories can be paid at any branch of the National Bank.
The aim of this adjustment is to simplify the process and make it more accessible to citizens across the country.
A summary of the amendments has been submitted to the Cabinet by the Home Ministry.
Once approved, the amendments will enable the issuance of passports similar to national identity cards, facilitating a smoother and more efficient system for all applicants.
Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities have taken important decisions to overcome the problem of delay in passport printing.
In this regard, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has decided to purchase 20 new laminators and as many printers, sources familiar with the development said.
He added that the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports also decided to purchase five modern ARPMs and two e-passport printers.
Sources added that 1,000 passports can be printed in an hour using the new printers and laminators.
