BAGH: Five police personnel, including four officers, were martyred when their vehicle fell into a deep gorge near the tourist area of Toli Pir, located at the junction of Poonch and Bagh districts of Azad Kashmir.
According to Poonch Division Commissioner Masood-ur-Rehman, the police vehicle was going from Haveli district to Rawalakot when it met with an accident at a place called Cross between Lasdana and Toli Pir. According to reports, the vehicle veered off the road and fell into a deep gorge. Three inspectors, a sub-inspector and a constable died on the spot. Their bodies have been shifted to CMH Rawalakot. The cause of the accident is still unknown.
Azad Kashmir Prime Minister expresses grief over the loss of lives of police personnel
Azad Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwarul Haq has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of five police personnel.
He directed the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Poonch Division to immediately initiate an investigation into the incident.
The Prime Minister also expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks.
Furthermore, he directed the local administration to carry out rescue and relief operations without delay.
The Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police immediately reached the accident site following the special instructions of the Prime Minister.
