Former SC judge Justice Khalilur Rehman Khan passes away

ISLAMABAD: Former Supreme Court of Pakistan judge Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan passed away on Tuesday, according to media reports.

The judicial circles have expressed deep sorrow and grief at his death.

Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and other esteemed judges of the Supreme Court expressed their condolences to the family of the deceased and prayed for patience for them.

A statement issued by the Supreme Court paid tribute to the valuable services of the late Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan to the judiciary. The statement said that the deceased demonstrated honesty, principledness, and professionalism during his tenure.

According to the statement, prayers were offered for the deceased’s eternal reward and elevation to higher ranks.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of former judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and former Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan.

Commiserating with the bereaved family, he prayed for the departed soul.

The Prime Minister said Justice Khalil-ur-Rehman Khan was considered one of the senior and experienced judges, and that he was known as a conscientious judge who dedicated his entire life to working for justice.
