Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa reportedly loses consciousness due to heart block

RAWALPINDI: Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa says that he did not slip but fell unconscious due to a heart block, according to media reports.

The report said that a lot of misinformation is being spread in the media and on social media regarding the former army chief.

The family has appealed to the public to avoid rumors and respect General Bajwa’s medical confidentiality.

General Bajwa was feeling unwell on Monday evening, February 9, but despite this, he went for his usual walk and exercise.

Later in the night, he felt nauseous and went to the washroom. After vomiting, he fainted and fell. Blood was seen coming out of his ears.

He was shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) within 15 minutes.

Reports further said that the former army chief had three minor fractures in his skull, but fortunately, there were no blood clots in the brain that could have been fatal. He is being provided with appropriate treatment.
