Government moves forward on bringing Shahzad Akbar to Pakistan
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to take up a case-by-case matter from the UK to bring former accountability advisor Shahzad Akbar back to Pakistan.
The federal government has also sent details against Adil Raja, who lives in the UK, to their government.
According to sources, all the cases and details of court proceedings related to Shahzad Akbar have been provided to the UK. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi handed over the documents to the British High Commissioner.
According to sources, the documents mention 3 cases against Akbar in Islamabad. 2 cases are registered against Shahzad Akbar in the Secretariat police station, and one case is registered in the Kohsar police station.
Details of Shahzad Akbar’s conviction by the NAB court are also part of the document. Details of the NCCIA and FIA cases have also been provided.
Details of Shahzad Akbar being declared a fugitive by the local court are also included.
It should be recalled that a few days ago, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with the British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, in which he handed over the extradition papers of former Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Shahzad Akbar and YouTuber Adil Raja to the High Commissioner.
According to the statement, the Pakistani government handed over the extradition papers of Shahzad and Adil Raja to Jane Marriott.
Mohsin Naqvi said that both individuals are wanted in Pakistan and should be immediately extradited to Pakistan.
