Govt announces additional holiday for Christmas

KARACHI: The Sindh government has announced a public holiday on December 25 as well as December 26 for the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.

A notification issued by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department of the Sindh Government states that the Sindh government has also announced a public holiday on December 26, 2025, only for the Christian community on the occasion of Christmas.

The notification states that there will be a holiday in all government, autonomous and semi-government institutions, corporations and local councils, which are under the administration of the Sindh Government, but people associated with very important services will not be included in it.

In addition, the Sindh government has also issued a notification of a public holiday on December 25 on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas, which will apply to all government and semi-government institutions as well as corporations and local councils operating under the Sindh Government.
