LAHORE: The Punjab government has made a tangible move to give decent employment prospects to the youth by choosing to initiate direct contacts with foreign embassies and missions.
The decision is designed to make new overseas employment opportunities available for competent Pakistani workers.
The Department of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship has been empowered to deal directly with global markets. Using these relationships, the department will seek employment for youths in foreign agriculture, industry, and construction industries.
Belarus has already provided jobs to Pakistan in various sectors, which will provide opportunities for improved overseas prospects for Pakistani youth. The program will be launched once formal approval is granted by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior.
It is under the Punjab government that, despite fast-evolving global dynamics, direct and prompt interaction with global partners has now become crucial. Provision of decent jobs to the youth continues to be a priority area for the government.
