ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced a public holiday across the country on 12th Rabi’ul-Awwal on the occasion of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
The government has listed 12 Rabi ul-Awwal as a public holiday in the calendar of the year 2024. According to the official circular, Eid Milad-un-Nabi will be celebrated on September 16, 2024.
However, the final decision will be taken after the moon of the new Islamic month is sighted. The meeting of the central Sighting of the Crescent Committee will be held on Wednesday (September 4).
If the moon is sighted on September 4, the first Rabi-ul-Awwal will be on the 5th of September, while the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal will be on the 16th of September.
Eid Milad-ul-Nabi, the birthday of the Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), is celebrated on 12 Rabi ul-Awwal every year.
To celebrate this day with religious fervor, every year the streets across the country turn into festivals.
Many processions are also held in the major cities of the country, in which participants wave flags and chant slogans to express their devotion to the Prophet Muhammad PBUH.
