ISLAMABAD: A special solar scheme is being prepared for citizens living in flats in cities, under which the owners will be able to install solar in their villages and get solar credit in their city flats.

According to the details, the Government of Pakistan has started working on a unique scheme to overcome the energy crisis in the country, under which citizens will now be able to install solar systems on their village land and get their electricity credit in their houses or flats in cities.

In an exclusive conversation with a private TV, Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Trade President Usman Shaukat said that the Prime Minister has issued instructions to prepare such a revolutionary scheme under which a regular solar wheeling policy will be introduced in the country.

He said that the biggest benefit of this policy will be for those people who live in flats or houses in cities, where they cannot install solar panels due to a lack of space on the roof.

Usman Shaukat said that now such citizens will be able to install a solar plant on their village land and adjust the credit of the electricity generated from it (through net metering) in the electricity bill of their city flat.

The President of RCCI further said that the solar wheeling policy is a prevalent and most important facility in all the big and developed cities of the world, where relief is given to the class facing land shortage through it.

He expressed the hope that the regular launch of this modern facility in Pakistan will prove to be extremely beneficial for the country’s economy and energy sector, which will not only reduce the burden on the national grid but will also significantly reduce the expensive electricity bills of the consumers.
