LAHORE: The government has simplified the process for registration under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar program, where citizens can apply online by sitting at home.

According to the Housing Department, the initiative has already produced incredible results. As many as 30,600 houses have been constructed in a very short span of time, and 1,05,700 families have been provided with loans for constructing homes.

Furthermore, 69,200 families have been provided with the second installment of their loans to continue their ongoing construction projects. Easy loan terms, along with attractive repayment discounts, are offered in this program to make homeownership easier.

The discount for repaying the loan in 1 to 3 years is 20 percent, while for 4 to 6 years, it will be 10 percent. These incentives encourage early payback and support citizens in building their homes faster.

It allows the government to make the process faster, more transparent, and convenient; at the same time, the online registration has freed the applicants from having to visit offices to join the scheme.
