LAHORE: The Punjab government has introduced a new financial support system that provides assistance to widows and orphaned children throughout the province.
The Punjab Rahmat Card, which Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif approved as a welfare program, will deliver cash assistance to vulnerable families while protecting their social rights.
The program provides widowed women with financial support of up to Rs 100000 while orphaned children receive Rs 25000 each.
