Punjab Rahmat Card Launched for Widows and Orphans with Financial Support

Here's how to apply for Punjab Rahmat Card for widows

Punjab government has announced the launch of the Punjab Rahmat Card, a first in the country, aimed at supporting widows and orphans. The decision was taken in a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

Under this initiative, eligible families will receive direct financial aid. Widows are entitled to up to 100,000 rupees, while orphaned children will receive 25,000 rupees each. In the first phase, over 50,000 vulnerable households are expected to benefit from the scheme.

The Chief Minister confirmed that the Punjab Rahmat Card project will start immediately after Eid. Applications can be submitted via a mobile app, official web portal, call centers, and Zakat offices.

Maryam Nawaz emphasized that widows in Punjab will no longer depend on charity. “The state ensures their rights with dignity, not just alms,” she said. She added that every individual has a rightful claim to Punjab’s resources, and the government will use all means to reach deserving citizens.

This historic initiative is expected to provide significant relief to marginalized families across Punjab, ensuring that widows and orphans receive timely and adequate support.
