ISLAMABAD:  The federal government will launch its “Apna Ghar Programme,” which provides financial support to citizens who wish to buy or build homes through subsidised loans, while the government provides a straightforward process for eligible applicants to use when they need to apply for the program.

The program requires interested individuals to submit their applications through the official online portal after the program launch. The first step for applicants requires them to confirm their eligibility, which requires them to possess a valid Computerised National Identity Card and demonstrate a clean credit history without any loan default.

The online application system requires users to provide personal details, income details, and property needs, which they must complete together with their choice of loan category.

The available financing options include loans ranging from Rs2.5 million to Rs10 million, depending on need and eligibility. The digital submission process requires applicants to submit supporting documents, which include identity verification documents and financial records.

Officials confirmed that applicants do not need to pay any application fees or advance payments throughout the entire process. Participating financial institutions will examine the application after it is submitted.

These institutions include commercial banks, Islamic banks, microfinance banks, and the House Building Finance Company, which will handle the loan applications and conduct their evaluations.

The system allows officials to process applications quickly because its design permits them to finish eligible application approvals within one month after submission.

The program will provide financing through a subsidised system that allows successful applicants to make their payments over an extended period.
