Islamabad administration issues NOC for PTI jalsa on certain conditions

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad District Administration has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to hold a public gathering on September 8, on Pawal Road near the Sangjani area of Islamabad.

In a letter issued by the District Magistrate office today, it stated, “You are hereby allowed to hold a Public Gathering / Jalsa on 08th September 2024 at the Open Space on Paswal road, adjacent to GT Road, Sangjani, Islamabad on the following terms and conditions and routes defined.”

The district administration has permitted PTI to hold power shows on some terms and conditions, according to which no one is allowed to enter the federal except the permitted routes.

As per the document, the district administration will have the authority to cancel the NOC at any time in case of any security situation.

Routes to reach PTI jalsa venue

According to the document, public coming from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for PTI jalsa will be diverted to the motorway from where they will use AWT Interchange in Sangjani and then through the Paswal Road, they can reach the venue.

The traffic coming from KP  via GT Road will use Burhan Interchange to get on motorway M1.

Moreover, Traffic coming via GT Road from the Punjab side will use GT Road till Rawat. From there they will take Chakbeli Road to Chakri Interchange Motorway to reach M2. And then they will follow the aforementioned route, the document said.

Furthermore, the residents of Rawalpindi can only use Dhamial Road and Girja Road to reach Thalian Interchange and Chakri Interchange respectively on M2. From AWT Interchange, they will reach the venue through Paswal Road.

The public coming from Murree will also reach the M2 Motorway through Chakri Interchange by using Chakbeli Road to reach the venue. For that, they can use Shahpur Road/Phulgaran Road from 17 Mile to reach Khana Pull on Islamabad Express Highway through Lethrar Road. They will further move towards Rawat  Chowk to catch Chakbeli Road.
