ISLAMABAD: An exchange of fire took place in the Sumbal police station of Islamabad, as a result of which the accused Sulaiman, who was in police custody, was killed.
The police were taking Suleman, who had been involved in recent bank robberies, to recover stolen property when the incident occurred.
The accused opened fire on the police party near Golra Mor. Policemen wearing bulletproof vests remained unprotected.
However, Suleman was seriously injured by the bullet.
He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Police have confirmed Suleman ‘s involvement in recent bank robberies and he was recently arrested.
